CHAOS Knits: Fashion Forward Knit Accessories

I came across this new accessory knit line while in a mad search for a slouchy beanie. They have beautiful hand knit accessories specializing in knit beanies and scarves and they come in about every color under the sun, talk about selection! The hardest time I had was deciding on what color I wanted to purchase. Then, I came across the CHAOS Signature Scrap Scarf which is a brilliant idea of making a scarf out of the left over yarn from the beanies they make. The Scrap Scarf costs $135. Fine by me since no two of them are going to look the same, it's a one of a kind garment. Another beautiful scarf they have is called the Forever and Ever Scarf which is a circular scarf that is two tone and can also be worn as a hood over the head, this one costs $150.

Overall their prices are definitely reasonable too, $50 to $65 for their beanies and the scarfs run from $100 to $150. Considering these are knit by hand and not a machine they have me sold! Check out there website here for more eye candy: www.chaosknits.com and shop their e-shop <-- by clicking there.

Big Watches = Love

I cannot deny the fact that I have been in love, obsessed really, with thick leather watches. My recent discovery has been this brand called Michele Watches. They make these stunning larger face watches, also known as the "man watch" and give you the option of choosing your strap. If you want a leather strap, snake skin, gold, silver, white gold they have every option possible. Personally, I always love either black leather or brown as they go easy with anything in your wardrobe. Don't worry though if colors if up your alley Michele offers many other colors from multi colored, pink, purple, red, white you name it. Not just different colors they also have different face shapes too, square large faces and if larger isn't your thing they have mini faces for dainty lovers as well.

My favorite, you might have guess is the image right there. This watch is from the CSX series, is unisex, has a mother of pearl face, offers interchangeable straps and has gorgeous genuine hand-set diamonds; .60ctw and 100 stones around bezel! This watch is beautiful but remember something so pretty has to have a price. This watch will set you back $995, but hey I bet you'll have it forever. Investment? Watches are, aren't they?

Young & Electric!

"We wanted something young, something that felt fresh, so we looked to surfing and skating, the things we grew up on," said Lazaro Hernandez backstage during his show. Well that is definitely what they gave us, the colors were bold and electric. The funky kid was definitely flying full color on the catwalk this fashion week. They said they were inspired by surfing and skating and that vibe was apparent throughout their show. The bight blues, yellows and greens definitely scream surfer and skater.

Bringing back the tie dye from years past, there is the hippie inspired feeling in them but still modern day. I would say a hippie of today would definitely rock one of these dresses with a feather headpiece. Done deal! These two guys nailed it. Spring, I am so looking forward to seeing you! ;)

Sequined Leggings- Fall Trend

We've pretty much already figured out that leggings are here to stay, for a bit anyway. Right now the fashion industry is just thinking up different ways to make them more interesting. Adding sequins! I think they're pretty hot definitely better then the ones that have holes down the side, I hate those. Besides the ones with holes shouldn't be made in anything larger than a medium. :/
These leggings in the photo are from Custo Barcelona, the design house from Spain and that image is their recent campaign. Be on the look out for them in the coming shows at Bryant Park, and also enjoy Bryant Park since this is the last fashion week that will be taking place at Bryant Park before the switch in 2010 to the Lincoln Center. Boo hoo, Bryant Park has been fun, I've seen many shows there in the last 2 years.

Pegging jeans to make a comeback...?

I'm sure some of you won't remember (maybe you will) the faze the boys went through back in the 90's when they were pegging their jeans. Well I do because my older brother and all of his friends did it and it was the cool thing to do and actually pretty hot. Then, like any other trend... BAM it was a thing of the past and it was over. Well, as we all know fashion repeats itself just like history and I sense a comeback of "pegging your jeans". Check out Exhibit A, to your left. These are a pair of jeans by Numph and actually called the Button Cuff Denim. They made it a bit easier since there is a "technique" to pegging your jeans but these Numph jeans give the same effect, just button at the ankle.

For $65 plus shipping they're yours get them here: ASOS

Give it to me now photos!!!!!! Instantly!

Now why in the world would you ever want to get rid of instant photos? That is still beyond me. Sure digital cameras are amazing but come on, there is nothing like taking a photo and having the camera spit it out right then. I mean am I right, or am I right?

Well there is hope... I was just informed by a few friends that the polaroid will be resurrected! My life will be complete again!!! Apparently someone has bought the rights to the polaroid and will start producing the film again within one year. I guess that means I don't need to by the new Fuji instant camera that was suppose to take the place of the polaroid. Now this is just what is going around, I hope and pray it is true. I was so devastated when the news was out that they were stopping the polaroid film and cameras. The Polaroid is a huge American staple, my entire baby book is filled with Polaroids.

Long live the Pola!!!!!!

Fishy Fish Eye....

I am thinking about getting this fisheye camera. I think the whole fisheye craze is a little trendy but the images are definitely cool. I love the whole Lomography Fisheye. I guess it's not bad priced at $40, I do think I can find it cheaper though. It's really just a toy camera. I mean this whole fisheye deal is about making interesting images not about shooting something for Vogue. ;) Since when you take the photo it's like you shot it through a toilet paper holder haha.

Drape Me.

Love this simple shirt by Kai-Aakmann. Draping is so in right now haha. Nah, serious it really is and clothing that just has a nice hang to them are made really well. Despite what one might think draping takes some serious talent. The garment needs to fall in just the right way. This designer does a great job at nailing both his draping skills as well as wearable casual yet sexy fashion with this long sleeve knit tee with front pleating.
Kuuuudos! ;)

PS: I really love those jeans too!

You never fail me ...

Australia! Ok, well in case you didn't know I have a slight obsession with Australia. Don't ask why, but I do. Weather it be the hot surfer boys with their golden tan skin or the amazing designers that come from down under who really knows. ;) Haha! Sass & Bide has been one of my favorites Australian designers for a while now. Remember the Rat Legging? Yup, it was Sass & Bide, man those were hot! Anyway check out this 'Well Hung Jacket' by Antipodium another amazing designer from that far away land. Perfect for the "I stole my boyfriends jacket" look that seems to be sooooooo hot right now. Save up though, this thread is going for $408, US dollar.

Erin Love xo

Erin Wasson has been flooding the scene lately, or is it just me? Nope, she really has. Her line with RVCA is pretty sweet I must say. A little over priced for my budget and well for a hardly there slouchy tank top but ...... nonetheless, I have to admit to purchasing one. Opps. It was hot, gimmie a break! : )

I love her vibe and laid back style of her collection. If I can look disheveled I am all about it, messy hair thank you! I told my Mum this style would come back! Hah

I would say model turned designer but considering the fact that she is still rocking several editorials and not to mention the catalog for Victoria's Secret she is still definitely a model.

Check out RVCA's site for Erin's Collection: Erin Wasson x RVCA

Meow!

How many of you are sooooooooo tired of seeing the same old fashion editorials in every single magazine you pick up? I know I am. I saw this image and I fell in love with it, I don't even think it was ever published in a magazine which I think is really sad. It's so cute, the styling, the model, the expression everything. Anyway just wanted to share this image because it's uber cute!

Danish Love

This lovely dane is making waves at Copenhagen fashion week. Fifth-teen year old Caroline C. is one of the promising faces to debut this season in Copenhagen. Her wide set blue eyes are hard to miss. She's definitely got the laid back vibe that seems to be in high demand at the moment and lucky for her it comes natural. There is only a couple more weeks till New York kicks off, Caroline is definitely going to make a huge impression on casting directors. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of her come show season in NYC.

Be sure to wear a flower in your hair...

Coming from California and living the laid back, no worries lifestyle I have the peace, love & haight ashbury in my blood. Sooo if you're coming for a visit to the beautiful Northern California part of California don't be surprised if you still see some modern day flower children running around, especially in lovely San Francisco.

I just went out yesterday and bought some Daises with my Mum and I am going to be planting them around the house. If I can just walk outside and pick my own daises to make my own little flower head pieces I'll be a happy girl. ;)

Keep the love love love xx

Steven Meisel never fails me...

What a cool breeze, literally. This shot for Alberta Ferretti by none other than the amazing Steven Meisel aka the Super Model Maker. The breezy campaign feathers Madisyn Ritland, Viktoriya Sosonkina, Dorothea Barth Jorgensen and Numue Smit lounging in a library as the books blow by. The models look gorgeous and classically elegant in Ferretti's chich creations and the added wind makes this image that much more dynamic!

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Metal Petals?

This is Make Believe!
No really, I'm serious it is, it's the name of the jewelry label by Amber Joy and Ebony Fleur cutely dubbed Ambony.

Make Believe is a jewelry label that was created out of an obsession with creativity, art, music, design and well Japan. The two designers met while both living in Tokyo. Ebony from the South Coast of Australia and Amber from Canada. They both wanted to create something that was inspired by, well ... make believe. I would definitely say that the rose necklace, called "The Petal to the Metal Neckpiece" reminds me of the painted roses in Alice and Wonderland, also my favorite Disney move ever!. :)

So if you're looking for a "statement piece" I think you've found your jewelry designers. Though you will pay a bill or two for these babies. The Petal to the Metal Neckpiece will cost you $259 and that's in the Aussie Dollar, not to sure what that is US Dollar so check your currency conversions ... I'm out. x

Sum sum summertime <3

Summertime calls for strappy sandals, backless dresses and sun-kissed faces. Which also means exposed bra straps, foot blisters and shiny foreheads. These are definitely things we are going to want to avoid at all costs.

*Remember your Havanians!
*Invest in a backless bra, strapless bra and a convertible bra.
*Foot cream, no one wants to see your nasty cracked heels, lube it up girls!
*Blotting papers, to soak up the oily skin. dewy summer skin is hot but shiny is not.

Remember these little tips and you should be good to go!

Bible verse of the day: John 11:25- Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even though they die"

Shapes of Soukupova

Here is a shot of the lovely Hana Soukupova in the latest issue of Dazed & Confused. This shot was based on 80's fashion innovator Maria Blaisse known for her sculptural shapes, as you can clearly see by the headpiece. Jason Kibbler shot this editorial styled by Karen Langley with pieces by Givenchy and Margiela, set design by Gary Card (he is probably the one who made that interesting hat deal she is wearing) to mimic the original Blaisse look. Hana did her job and did it well bring the extra and final touch to the elegance of the story.

Bible verse of the day: Hebrews 13:18- Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.

May 68

Check out this New Wave editorial I found photographed by Jason Brownrigg and styled by Christian Saratsis. Models include Allaire & Jacquelyn @ Ford, Masha @ Next and Aleksandra @ Women Direct.

This editorial was inspired by the Paris student riots of 1968.

Keats, I love your name!

Isn't she adorable? Keats, 17, is with Premier Model Management and originally from Russia. Keats was discovered in a local fashion show in Russia and we can guess her career will definitely be on the rise soon. Not sure of her exact date of birth but she is a Cancer. Oh and a few of her favorite things according to models.com: bags, tall shoes- "higher the better" and she loves fast cars.

You'll definitely want to watch this one, keep your eyes peeled for up coming fashion spreads with Keats!

French Fries

Models come in like a fresh crop of strawberries, cherries, corn? Well you get the idea, point is they come in waves. The Brazilians, the Russians, the Scandinavians, the Belgians- each group of girls embodying the style and attitude to represent their nation along with the look to fit their country and certain fashion era. So let's now welcome this new wave we will call The French Revolution: Melodie Dagault, Charlotte Di Calypso, Jennifer Messelier, Sigrid Agren, Constance Jablonski and former MOTW Mathilde Frachon. This image was shot by the wonderful and amazing Victor Demarchelier (one of my favs) as the fresh faced representatives of the next generation of power players to take over the fashion industry. Based on these girls booking big jobs left and right it looks as though the psychic told us right!

Bible verse of the day: Genesis 1:1- In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Georgia Peach

Georgia May Jagger and her cross between rocker and doll face has recently been seen in the Hudson jeans campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti. Oh and did we forget to mention that we found her on the lovely pages of Vogue Paris? Yep, not too shabby for the start of a career.

Bible verse of the day: John 14.6: Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Numero Cover, again ... C McNeil

Catherine McNeil does it again, another cover for Numero for her. I wasn't sure if she would be able to top her last one for Numero since it was basically the strongest cover the magazine ever had. I am not sure this one is better but it is definitely stunning, she sure has perfected that pout that has become her staple.

Bible verse of the day: John 15:13- Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.

Karolin Wolter

Ok, from working in fashion and shoot after shoot I have to admit studio shooting can be insanely tedious. When you're just working with a gray back drop, model and clothing those two elements must be on point, the styling and the model. However, the killer team who worked on this shoot with Karoline Wolter kicked some serious butt! Terry Tsiolis attention to detail and Brana Wolfs expert styling worked well together to capture this stunning shot. Again when it comes to gray walls it's the clothing. This image is gorgeous I love the double wooden bangles on both wrists one arm brown one arm black. Two thumbs up from me.

Bible verse of the day: Galitians 5:22- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.

Oh my oh model...

Check out New York Model's new Dutch discovery Ylonka. Only 17 years old and straight in from The Netherlands. (Minus those cute little wooden shoes. ;))

I see tons of editorials in the future for this stunner, not to mention runway shows. I am sure she'll be in high demand coming the Spring 2010 shows, what do you think? We are all born with our own talent, that special gift from God. Ylonka's happens to be modeling and you can't deny she is pretty captivating in that image.

Bible Verse: John 14:15- If you love me keep my commands.

Feathers Yesterday. Fringe Today!

Yesterday was all about the feather headpieces which I love. Today it's about the FRINGE! I'm really feeling this whole feather trend, though I am not a fan of the feather earrings. No beuno.

Any who, check out this bag by Satori it's their Satori Kinichie Fringe and Feather bag. Adore! Drawstring top with a contrasting two feather detail, beading and made of real leather. I love the across body strap and the choice of colored feathers. Most people don't think to put purple and yellow together but they are great contrasting colors. This bag isn't even that much, it's a steal at $76.95! I think I just might buy it right now. You wanna buy it too? Get it here: ASOS

Everything from the hippie era is coming back in full force. It's pretty funny my Mom tells me pretty much daily that she had something just like whatever it is I'm wearing when she was in college. Hah... come to think of it I think my Mom might have a bag just like this one. Better check the attic first. ;)

Bible Verse of the Day: Romans 3:23- For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Feather Head Pieces?

Feather headpieces seem to be sweeping the fashion scene these days. At least for the hip fashion trend setters. I wasn't sure about these when I first started seeing them, I mean who wants to run around looking like a little Indian child? Though I must say after I saw Erin Wasson (who I love) sporting a few different ones, not so "Last of the Mohicans" I fell in love. So much so that I decided to make a few of my own. Now I am all into making these feather headpieces and other kinds of headpieces too. Maybe I'll take some photos of them and post them in a few days.

You can order the head piece in the image above from Little Doe, they make one of a kind made to order headpieces. Check them out, you'll fall in love!

Bible Verse of the day: Proverbs 22:24-Do not make friends with the hot-tempered, do not associate with those who are easily angered.

Style style ... STYLE!

I love each and every one of these looks, how cute is the last outfit? So simple I love it! Simple outfits are the best, that stripped shirt looks super comfy too. I love oversize tops with skinny jeans honestly the best look. :)

Bible Verse of the day: Job 8:21-He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.

Flannel Shirts <3

I love myself a cozy flannel shirt, I probably have about 10 of them. From the cute more fitted ones to the boyfriend oversized ones that look so cute with leggings, they even work as a shirt dress. These shirts aren't going anywhere anytime soon, at least not if I can help it! :)

Today's Verse:
John 14:1-Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

The Hat Says It!

Who said Jesus didn't love fashion? I mean after all Jesus was looking pretty good in that white robe and rope sandal get-up he was sporting back in the day, no?

This blog is about fashion in everyday life, inspirational images that inspire you. People who have a mind of their own and aren't afraid to be who they are, believe what they believe and voice just that. They are inspired by what is around them and dress according to who they are inside. Call it indie, call it hipster, call it hippie, call it boho, call it what you will but we are all just people and we don't need to be put into boxes and categorized. Why can't we all just ... be?

Verse of the day:
Hebrews 11:1- Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

*You must believe! :)
